Section 4.3 Assignment - Questions for the Olmec

What we know about the Olmec comes to us mostly through their artifacts that they carved in stone. There is a lot that we still do not know about this culture. 

Imagine that you have the opportunity to have five questions about the Olmec civilization and its people answered for you. What would you ask? 

Step 1

Come up with a list of questions that you would ask to best fill in the gaps in the records that we have for the Olmec. Read through the information in this section to be sure that we do not already have plausible answers to your questions. 

Narrow your questions down to the five best. Each should be one straightforward question that could be clearly answered by a person from the Olmec civilization in a few sentences. 

Step 2

Write a paragraph in which you explain why you asked the questions that you did. Which questions did you exclude and why?

This will be marked according to the rubric below.
