Section 2.4 Assignment - Timeline

Completion requirements
Receive a grade

For this section assignment you will be looking at a timeline of ancient Egypt. You will see that this civilization lasted for about 3 000 years.

You will then grapple with this question: Based on what I have read in this section, what factors do I think allowed the Egyptians to endure for longer than any other ancient civilization?

This is an inquiry assignment that asks you to come up with a theory based on material that you have read. It is not a research assignment that asks you to find information outside of the course.

Step 1

After reviewing the course readings, write down at least three factors that you think allowed Egyptian civilization to endure. For each factor, write down the reason or reasons for your choice.

Study the timeline and make sense of your response so that you understand the factors chronologically.

Step 2

Write a paragraph in which you answer the question posed above. Start with a topic sentence in which you answer the question. List at least three factors in your paragraph, explaining your thinking for each. Be sure to tie your ideas firmly into the provided timeline.

Step 3

Hand in both your notes and paragraph. This will be marked out of 16 according to the rubric below.
