Editorial- Peer Edited Draft

EDITING IS CRUCIAL
Writing is all about the process. Think of reading as an experience, and all things contribute to the reader's experience. From the missed comma to the misused MLA formatting, it all impacts your credibility as an author. This becomes even more important in a short piece of writing, like an editorial. You have 400- 1000 words to convince your reader you are trustworthy and that you are correct in your assertions. This starts with your catchy headline and ends with your final entry in your reference list. IT. ALL. MATTERS!
For the Peer Edited Draft Assignment, we want you to find a peer from the class to edit your first draft; perhaps you can exchange editing services. Failing that, you will need to find a friend, teacher or another adult to do the peer edit. Keep in mind this is a highly personal piece of writing, and you can be the judge of who you want to share it with. Contact your teacher if you have any concerns.
For the Peer Edited Draft, your peer will need to follow the instructions on the worksheet and provide a paragraph explanation/ comments on the draft. This worksheet needs to be handed in with the first draft.
