Topic outline

  • This course will provide you with a range of computer and personal/business skills to help you flourish and navigate our digital world. Although the course uses the Google suite of applications, the skills and knowledge can be applied to any current software. You only have to choose10 projects that ADD UP TO at least 500 minutes of instruction. You must choose #12 below because it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that you know how to keep safe in this ever changing cyber world. (IT IS A JUNGLE OUT THERE in cyber space).  See below for the minutes that each are alotted. 

    Submitting assignments

    When you start the course, I will create a SUBMISSION BOX folder. Please drop all of the files for a particular unit into this BOX and email me when you have completed each one. Make sure that you SHARE them with me. Thanks

  • Note: If you complete these 7 units, then you can take the GOOGLE CERTIFICATION TEST.  Remember, you don't have to do these units, but must choose 10 UNITS in addition to the first assignment that you completed to get credit for the course!

  • 2. Wordprocessing Part II

    Learn tools and settings for formatting, editing, and collaborating in a document to prepare for the Google Docs portion of your G Suite Certification Exam.

  • 3. Spreadsheets Part I

    Build, organize, and format a spreadsheet of sales data.

    Evaluate and interpret data with different spreadsheet functions, filters, and charts.

  • 5. Spreadsheets Part III

    Use advanced functions and conditional formatting to calculate and emphasize cost, revenue, and profit for a community fundraiser.

  • Now you get to apply your skills! Choose a total of 11 units (the additional 10 units may ALL be chosen from the Personal and Business sections - it is your choice!)

    Create a meeting agenda to share with others, collect feedback, run a successful meeting, take notes, and assign action items

    Learn how to write professional emails for specific workplace situations.

  • 16. Prepare For Your Business Plan and Write your plan

    Research and organize information to prepare to write a business plan. Begin writing a business plan to define and organize your business’s development and growth.

  • 17. Estimate Financing for Your Business Plan

    Estimate startup expenses and capital and project profit and loss for your first year in business using Google Sheets

  • 18. Build Your Online Business

    Create an online business in order to sell a product or service.
