Japanese Internment Assignment
You have learned about the internment of Japanese Canadians during WW II in Canada.
The areas you learned about each include:
- Why internment camps were established.
- Conditions in the internment camps.
- What happened to the Japanese possessions and land.
- How the government has tried to make amends for past wrongs.
You will have two choices for an assignment. Complete one choice and upload in the submission area below.
Assignment Choice A - A Personal Point of View
You can write a story from the point of view of a child in an internment camp. Your story should start from when the family is removed from their home and events/experiences while in the camp. Your story should include images or drawings as well as text.
Assignment Choice B - My New Home
Create a diarama (a model representing a scene in three-dimensional) using a box of what you think a internment house would be like. Hint* There are images on the internet. When you are done, take images of your model. Include a brief written explanation to include in your submission.
