Choose the contemporary story that impacted you the most.
Review the common themes and literary devices common among First People works:
The following themes are often aspects of First Peoples' Oral Tradition:
- life lessons
- Individuals and community responsibilities and obligations
- Land use documentation
- Community history
- Songs
- Creation stories
The following devices are common elements of First Peoples' oration
- Metaphor - comparing two things by saying one thing is another
- Rhetorical structure- using words to persuade
- Cyclical nature - returning in a regular pattern
- Rhythm - movement caused by repeating words and phrases or even by repeating whole lines and sentences
- Weaving narratives - using your words to tell a story

Write a paragraph of no more than 300 words where you introduce the artist and their story, and identify the cultural relevance and cultural characteristics. Also, note any of the common themes and literary devices being used.
Answer the following questions: Does your chosen performer stay true to tradition, or do they modernize or add their own spin on the performance? Why or Why not? What made the piece stand out to you, or what aspect made it powerful?
Edit your work closely for errors and clarity.
